Custom recently provided 3 bridge kits to be installed by Lunda Construction and the Cofrin Memorial Arboretum at the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay. Ayres Associates created the plans working in partnership with the UW-GB Fellowship in charge of the Arboretum.
These bridge kits are built to AASHTO Pedestrian specification and are designed to hold a 10,000 lbs. H5 vehicle. All of the bridge lumber is Kiln Dried After Treatment Brown-Stained lumber provided by Northern Crossarms.
The brides are all around 25′ long and 8′ wide. They are placed on new concrete abutments with helical piers designed by Ayres Associates. We typically build to the Trail Bridge spec rather than AASHTO, so these bridges feature a larger railing and double structural deck to meet the additional requirements.
Custom Bridge and Boardwalks can provide kits to be installed by a local contractor like Lunda. We also provide turnkey trail bridges where we take care of the complete installation.
